I don’t use a web cam so I thought I’d do a quick check to see if there was anything usable on Ustream for my test and Ashton Kutcher just happened to be on and wrapping up a live chat. So, I hastily scaled and popped a cube on my head, enabled shared media, loaded the Ustream page, zoomed in and repositioned the texture as best as I could given the time constraints and hit record. Please forgive the terrible camera work… I was paying more attention to the prim than to my controller. So you can see when I pull up the statistics window that the in-world frame rate is around 30-35fps (it was around 60fps without the media playing) but the shared media itself was a live webcast so the frame rate there is quite a bit lower. This wasn’t anything spectacular but I thought it might be worth sharing for a chuckle anyway. best version here: vimeo.com .
